Not much to say about today as I was kinda just setting up for the next day, but taking a chance on perhaps a marginal storm or two in Colorado. I had hauled from Southern Illinois to Colby, Kansas the day before, and had the intention to kinda lolly-gag around and see if anything marginal would go up. Unfortunately, my morning did not go terribly smooth. Several small delays mounted, and later on, so did a new tire. I would end up having some vehicle issues, including a flat, that I needed to deal with there in Colby.

I pushed west anyway, kinda giving up hope that anything exciting would go, so I decided to get myself set up along I-76 in Fort Morgan. I booked myself into the Clarion Inn on the west side of town and got up to US-34 and was heading west when my down day turned not so down. Storms fired north of me about 20 or so miles and were going to town in the CG department. I found a place to set up off the highway, busted out both my Nikons, and went to town for the better part of 90-minutes shooting countless photos of this crazy electric storm. Ended up checking in to my hotel after midnight. Glad I opted for a place close to my tomorrow target!

Too many shots to post here, so I’ll be selective and choose a handful, separating each gallery by camera, and posting some of the composite shots as their own.
