This is the same storm that went on to drop softball sized hail in Wylie, Texas in the DFW Metroplex. This was about 45 minutes before Wylie was hammered. 1:26 The baseball hail begins to fall 4:25 Damage footage begins Amazing hailstorm in Bowie/Sunset, TX; rode it out downwind from a gas station as 3-inch hail came down like rockets. Over a dozen cars in the gas station area lost windows. Not a dent for me, was downwind of the awning as the hail rocketed over. A tornado-warned storm hammered Bowie/Sunset, TX destroying vehicles at a gas station off US-287 between Bowie and Sunset. Hail measured at 3-inches came down like rockets while people huddled under the gas station. Baseball Hail Destroys Cars On Camera - 4/11/2016 Bowie/Sunset (Wylie), Texas
After a long, busted chase in Iowa, I booked a hotel that afternoon from near Ottumwa to Morris, IL as a halfway point between Iowa and my Michigan destination the following day. Little did I realize that would be ground zero that night for the second line of storms that would move through. I literally left my hotel and was across the interstate when I shot this. Amazing footage of a , line-embedded rain-wrapped nighttime tornado in/near the town of Morris, IL just southwest of Chicago on I-80. Opening 75-seconds include vivid, close power-flashes as possible tornado moves northwest to southeast in front of me. Rest of the footage includes nighttime damage immediately after the storm. NWS Chicago confirms a tornado north of Morris which coincided with my initial report of spotting a funnel in a power flash north of I-80. Power flashes moved across my view from northwest to southeast across my view and tree damage was laid out in multiple directions.
