And you thought we were in a drought. Well, we are, but you wouldn’t think that if you lived in Southwest Denver this weekend. For the second day in a row, heavy storms caused flooding in the Ken Caryl area. This time, the flooding occurred just a hair bit west of yesterday’s mess.

Today’s was a bit more intense and visually wowing over yesterdays. Still, a few cars made the venture into the water only to find themselves aired on national TV for their ignorance. Water poured into the area from various small ditches-turned-rivers and piled up along Ken Caryl road from the Valley’s entrance east to the C-470 junction. Again, emergency crews had to aid in pushing people out of the water. Water receded almost as quickly as it came in, yet left area residents in awe over the sights.
