There are 19 days between August 12 and August 30, and I chased 11 of them. Three were road travel days, and I flew to Houston on the 30th… 15 of 19 days I was on the road/in the sky… if you factor Edouard and flying home yesterday, that would be 17 of the last 21 days… that’s a lot…
So yes, forgive me when I say FINALLY in terms of a quiet stretch… I hadn’t really had any idea I had gone that hard in the last few weeks until I felt it yesterday. Edouard wasn’t the most exhausting storm, but as I was dragging my way through airports yesterday, I thought it was weird I had felt so tired after that. But when I realized the context to which that short trip had fit in, it made perfect sense. This is definitely not the time of year I am use to this kind of grind.
So yeah, I’m happy to get a little exhale in here… shouldn’t see anything of note between now and early next week, so I am hoping that means a little R&R to recharge a bit. I feel kinda behind on life, as is often the case during the Spring, but not usually ending summer. So it’ll be nice to do something that does NOT involve weather for a moment. I don’t shy away from the fact that I absolutely do NOT fall into the ‘Never Stop Chasing’ crowd… sometimes, I do want to stop, even if it’s a short-term stop. But right now, it’ll be nice to STOP chasing for a minute. The snoring floof ball on my floor is representing what I wanna NEVER stop doing for the next few days.. haha
That said, I’ll probably be fairly quiet after today… gonna spend a few hours on the ol’ PC getting some social stuff prepped and scheduled, including some YouTube videos. I’ve missed two Fridays in the last several weeks due to being out, so I need to try to lock in a few posts. Fortunately I accomplished my main goal already, so it’s not devastating to me to miss a week here and there. Actually, my original goal was every-other-week, so the fact that I was doing weekly was already over and beyond anything I had planned, so yay me for that. Because of that, I do not come down upon myself for missing a week here and there. 😀
That all said, break time! I’m going to enjoy every bit of it, except the heat… that can go screw itself a few times over. And while there is nothing coming that will give even a hint at Fall, the long-range models are at least starting to show the POTENTIAL that the summer heat’s time is numbered, at least here along the Colorado Front Range…
The Pumpkin Spice awaits it’s permanent integration into life…
